    Construction of a long-awaited passenger platform for the city's only train station (Chico Amtrak Station, 95928). Funding for this project was provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, colloquially known as the "stimulus package."

    Chico Amtrak Station services the immediate urban area of the City of Chico, Butte County, and California's North Valley region. Chico Amtrak Station provides a vital link between the North Valley and metropolitan gateway hubs such as San Francisco, CA; Sacramento, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Portland, OR; and Seattle, WA.
