Mercury guard Diana Taurasi was named to the All-WNBA First Team for a league-record ninth time on Thursday.

Brittney Griner was also named to the All-WNBA First Team, a first for her.

It is the third time in franchise history that the Mercury placed two players on the First Team: 2007, Taurasi, Penny Taylor; 2009, Taurasi, Cappie Pondexter.

The Mercury won the WNBA title each of those years.

Taurasi led her team in scoring in 2014 with 16.2 points per game. She led the league with 5.6 assists per game. She is the first player in league history to lead the WNBA in scoring one season and assists in another.
