Such as: pay attention to other drivers, put the phone away while you're driving, don't tailgate or be aggressive, the lis...t goes on. It's a great example how being unsafe behind the wheel can lead to a dangerous, and potentially deadly situation. Bottom line: Be Safe. Drive Smart.

The I-35 northbound and southbound mainlanes will be closed to all traffic through Salado on Wednesday, March 26 AND Thursday, March 27, from 7 PM – 7 AM. Crews will place bridge beams for the new Thomas Arnold Bridge.... See detours on attached map. During the closure, the crossings at Main Street and FM 2268 will also be closed in order to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic.

- **GALVESTON FERRY UPDATE**
TxDOT is in process of reopening the ferry service between Galveston and the Bolivar peninsula. We urge public to be careful, as oily conditions may still exist. - Galveston-Bolivar ferry services are still suspended this morning until further notice. Please seek an alternate route. The U.S. Coast Guard has requested we stop services after an oil spill in Galveston Bay. We'll update this page and @TxDOT, @GalvestonFerry, and TxDOTHoustonPIO Twitter accounts when it reopens.
- **GALVESTON FERRY UPDATE** Ferry services from Galveston to Bolivar have been suspended due to an oil spill in Galveston Bay. The closure is at the request of the U.S. Coast Guard.
Drivers expecting to use the ferry services this evening and tomorrow should be prepared with alternate plans. Contact the Ferry Office for status updates at (409) 795-2230.

- Smoke from a wildfire near US 60 at Higgins, TX in Lipscomb County is adding to the already reduced visibility in the area due to blowing dust and winds gusting over 50 mph. Texas DPS is asking motorists to avoid the area if possible. State troopers are also suggesting motorists traveling in the Texas panhandle and South Plains should turn on their headlights due to the reduced visibility.
