TxDOT is analyzing the intersection of United States Highway (US) 59 and Farm to Market (FM) 2021 in Redland to find the most feasible and economic upgrade to improve safety and mobility.

Project Status

The project has qualified for construction and right of way funding. The environmental process continues as we identify properties needed for construction.

A public hearing announcing the final schematic design and final environmental document is targeted for late summer or early fall of 2010. Subject to approval from the Federal Highway Administration, contacting landowners for property acquisition should begin in late fall or early winter of 2010.

TxDOT's goal is to receive bids for construction in March 2013. Construction is estimated to take between 12 and 24 months.
