New AddThis Pro Widget: Content Recommendations, Where You Want Them

We’re excited to announce that one of our most requested features is now available in AddThis Pro: inline content recommendation widget.

With your AddThis Pro account, you can insert a recommended content widget inside the layout of your site––anywhere you want––like so.

Since we released Smart Layers last summer, we heard from many of you asking for a widget, like the Content Footer, that you could place at the top of your homepage or in your right rail so your visitors would see recommended pages sooner.

And because it’s in Pro, your visitors get personalized content recommendations based on their interests. So, for example, you have a visitor that’s heavily interested in sports, they’ll see more of your sports-related content versus a food-fan who’d see more of your food content. Why does it work this way? To drive more traffic and engagement on your site.

Try out the new inline tools!

Just sign into your Pro tool gallery and select Horizontal Content Inline or Vertical Content Inline (or both!). Then grab the code snippet, and insert it into your site layout where you want to see it. For example, you can place the inline content recommendation tool at the end of your blog post so your visitors will have more options to keep reading.

As a Pro, you don’t need additional code changes to configure this tool once you place the code on your site. You can manage all your customizations from the dashboard, and you’ll instantly see them on your site.

So forget going through API documentation to figure out how to change the number of items to display or waiting for a developer to make the changes for you. You can do it yourself with a few simple clicks, and then go back to the rest of your day!

We’re standing by if you have any questions. Send us an email (help@addthis.com) or comment below.

When are the share buttons and welcome bar going to be added to AddThis Pro? That’s when I’ll sign up and pay the money! At the moment it seems kind of disjointed with some tools here, some tools there…… don’t get me wrong, I’m really glad to see this recommendation stuff as well. Looks awesome, but I just want simplicity, and that is managing EVERYTHING from the dashboard.

I’m liking the share buttons you guys have at the bottom of your blog posts here…. I guess that is a feature that’s coming soon?

Awesome! How can I remove the AddThis branding from the widget? I´m a Pro user.

Unfortunately, we can’t in order to abide with the best practices from the IAB.
