With apologies to the suit, perhaps it's the socks that make the man. To prove it, here's George H.W. Bush wearing socks with a picture of his face on them. The former president, who was accepting the LBJ Foundation's "Liberty and Justice for All" award, is known for his whimsical and eye-catching sock choices. France's U.N. ambassador called the situation in Central African Republic "horrendous." Other human rights observers, diplomats and government officials use similar terms to describe the country, where armed Seleka rebels from neighboring countries have engineered a near-civil war between the country's dominant Christian population and minority Muslims. Fears of genocide similar to what happened in Rwanda permeate diplomatic circles. Yahoo News examines how the resource-wealthy but broken country has spiraled into deadly chaos: http://bit.ly/1cOFwP9

What you see in others IS ONLY because you see it in yourself , your looking into a mirror of those you speak ill of , Mirror Mirror on the wall , who is the dumbest human of all , that is what it amounts to , and you's are acting just like that ...  There is NO TERRORISTS THREATS on this thread and if you turned someone in for one then you deserve the detention camp yourself , Wake up and stop acting like fools ...

No pecan pie for Thanksgiving? This is nuts!

Record rainfall, feral pigs, squirrels and "a growing love affair between the Chinese middle class and the pecan," have led to a pecan shortage, according to The New York Times. The dwindling pecan supply has driven up the price of pecans by 30 percent: http://bit.ly/1bXcYRY

Did you notice pricey pecans in grocery stores this year? Share your experience below.

In the 1920s, the helium-filled balloons in New York's Thanksgiving Day parade could drift for up to a week, and $100 prizes were awarded for each balloon recovered. Throughout the years, many cartoon icons - Bart Simpson, Snoopy, Superman, Spongebob Squarepants and Mickey Mouse, just to name a few- have been featured in the parade. We've collected photos of the balloons, past and present, including this Donald Duck from 1962. See more balloons: http://bit.ly/1cOzyxG

I still love sending snail mail but I confess I'm not the warrior I used to be....the effort it takes to WRITE a greeting on a card is not appreciated like it used to be.  And the younger they get the less they are likely to indulge the practice.  Sad.  Hoping one day the art of the written holiday wish will come back with a fury.
