  14. Traveling on I-35 this long weekend? Stop in at 35’s newest and largest safety rest area in Hill County about 5 miles south of Hillsboro! Like all of TxDOT’s newer rest areas, it features restrooms, a playground, picnic area, vending machin...es and an air-conditioned lobby area with an interpretative display that highlights Hill County history and features. Roadside relaxation has come a long way from four or five covered picnic tables on the side of the road!See More

  15. **Houston Traffic Update**
TxDOT crews will be closing the I-45 southbound exit to McKinney into downtown Houston after a routine bridge inspection showed some damage from an unreported collision. An oversized trailer traveling on I-45 northbound sometime within the last year likely hit the bridge and caused the damage.

While the ramp is closed, drivers heading downtown can use either the Dallas/Pierce right-hand exit (#47D) or the Allen Parkway left-hand exit (#47A). The ramp will remain closed until the repairs can be made.
