Yesterday was an amazing day as we finally got to unveil Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2. We had a great event in New York (see the full keynote here) and the reaction to what’s coming has been awesome. To those of you who have posted, tweeted, and otherwise joined in – thank you!

This morning we began taking pre-orders via www.MicrosoftStore.com, Microsoft Stores, and through select retailers in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. Learn more about the new devices and accessories as well as how to pre-order in your market at www.Surface.com/pre-order.

Along with the pre-order, I also want to recall the great offers from Skype and SkyDrive that are included to help you get the most from your new Surface. When you purchase (either through pre-order or after October 22nd) you’ll receive free Skype calling to landlines in more than 60 countries for one year, unlimited Skype WiFi on your Surface 2 or Surface Pro 2 at more than 2 million hot spots worldwide for one year, and 200 GB of free SkyDrivestorage for two years.

For more on yesterday’s announcement, see Panos’ blog post– and stay tuned!

Thanks

I've ordered mine 15 days ago at that time I didn't even know that it was unavailable so now I am waiting and I'm beginning to be tired of it, its really disrespectful for the buyers like us who chose a windows products to not even have any kind of information. There may be reasons but still, now when I see I have to wait until march I find it unbelievable, its like I'm  buying an Xbox one seriously....

    (sorry for the double post)

Going on over  2 weeks now and the surface 2 is still unavailable (32GB).  How dose Microsoft plan when launching new products during peak sales periods? As as shareholder this is very surprising and something needs to change.

I'm trying to buy for each of my Daughters for Xmas and I'm not sure whether they will be available! Never heard of a company that dose not want to take orders and fill once available. This means potentially lost sales! I have to check the website on a regular basis which gets old after some time. I called the MS store several times and they have no idea on when product will be available.

  • Hello

Tell me, please, when Surface 2 will appear in Russia?

    Thanks in advance.

  • 3G/4G...

Plans for wireless connectivity with the Surface 2 RT/Pro and, if so, when?  Hate to have to rely on WiFi these days, and this will be the cat's meow!

    Hello Surface Team,

Does Surface 2 (windows rt) supports wireless display? (miracast). What is the supported adapter?

sorry if this question has been answered elsewhere. Thanks a lot

  • I assume that the accessories for the surface pro 2 will work fine with the surface pro 1? Still waiting to see if there will be some type of trade in/upgrade program for the surface pro to the surface pro 2 since the surface pro has barely been out.

Is there a reason why the Surface Pro 2 (512 GB model) isn't available for pre-order?

When are the technical specifications for the Pro 2 going to be published?

Question to the Surface team - why is the Touch Cover 2 not available to pre-order? It says it is to be released the same day as everything else and you can pre-order Type Cover 2. But Touch Cover 2 just says "coming soon." Same for the Arc Touch Mouse SE.

I really wanted to get a Touch Cover 2 and Arc Mouse with my Surface 2, but had to give up and just order the tablet for now. The mouse I can live with waiting for, but the cover is such an integral part of Surface, it really should bre an option with the tablet  - just like how choosing a storage option is a choice when ordering the tablet - and not a completely separate purchase that isn't even available to pre-order!

Does anyone know if there are problems with pre-order confirmations?  I ordered this morning around 10AM eastern time.  My credit card has 2 or 3 $1 test charges...... but no confirmation via email.

Additional...test charges are from the Microsoft store.  When I log into the MS Store... it shows nothing ordered... but when I look at my list of charges on my Microsoft account (accessed from live profile) it shows a SP2 and keyboard were charged.  ????

We've confirmed with the store team that the $1 test charges are made to confirm the method of payment and will be reversed.

  • - Why have not included India in the launch? I want to pre-order a Surface 2 for myself, but I am unable to. Please confirm when Surface 2 will be available in India?

Will there be more colors for the Touch Cover 2 in the future? And is it correct that it works on Surface RT like it says on the Store page? What about the backlight, does that work on Surface RT?

Touch Cover 2 was only announced in Black, but we can confirm that the backlighting in Touch Cover 2 and Type Cover 2 will work with your Surface RT.
