CARROLLTON — Police in Carrollton say a man was drunken driving and headed the wrong direction when he lost control of his car, sending it over a bridge early Wednesday morning.
According to police, the driver was headed southbound in the northbound lanes of the President George Bush Turnpike at about 4 a.m. when the car plunged off the bridge near West Belt Line and Luna roads.
The driver was transported to Parkland Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
"The suspect will be filed on at large for DWI," said Nicole Rodriguez, a spokeswoman with Carrollton police.
