Construction worker injured working on Fort Worth toll road

A construction worker helping build the Chisholm Trail Parkway toll road in Fort Worth was injured Tuesday afternoon when a piece of equipment they were using slid from a bridge and landed on the ground below. A North Texas Tollway Authority spokesman said the worker, who was not identified, was taken to a hospital but did not sustain life-threatening injuries. Michael Rey said he did not have details on how the accident occurred. The incident happened around the parkway’s interchange with Interstate 20. NTTA is building the 27.6-mile road from Cleburne to downtown Fort Worth. It is slated to open next year.
