The photo was released as the surviving students of Sandy Hook Elementary School trooped back to class Thursday — in a different building and town. Anxious parents loaded hundreds of kids onto buses for the trip to nearby Monroe, Conn., just three weeks after the terrified students fled a mass murderer.

            For years, Bloomberg had been a lonely voice seeking tough new restrictions on firearms. But within two days of the Newtown shooting, Bloomberg was on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” demanding that President Obama put gun control at the top of his agenda.
