Fireworks ARE NOT SOLD AND ARE ILLEGAL within the corporate city limits of Corinth, Texas. Persons possessing, discharging, or selling fireworks are subject to a fine of up to $2,000. Officers identifying persons violating the fireworks restriction will use zero tolerance enforcement.

§ 93.41 DEFINITIONS.
 
For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
 
DISCHARGE. A chemical reaction resulting in fire or combustion.
 
DISTRIBUTION. To pass control from one person to another.
 
FIREWORKS. Any firecracker, torpedo, skyrocket, Roman candle, sparkler or other pyrotechnic device designed or adapted to be exploded, ignited or discharged and is not classified as a high charge explosive.
 
OFFER TO SALE. Indicate by words or actions that a firework can be obtained for remuneration.
 
POSSESSION. Having under ones care, custody or control.
 
SALE. To exchange any fireworks for a remuneration.
 
STORAGE. To keep in a place used or adapted for storage.

§ 93.42 SALE OR USE OF FIREWORKS.
It is an offense for any person, association of persons, firm or corporation to sale, offer to sale, possess, store, distribute or explode any fireworks within the city, except as provided in § 93.22.

§ 93.43 PERMIT REQUIRED FOR SUPERVISED PUBLIC DISPLAYS.
The Fire Chief for the city may adopt reasonable rules and regulations for the granting of permits for supervised public displays of fireworks by an organization, or for use by artisans in the pursuit of their trade. Each and every display shall be handled by a competent operator approved by the Chief and shall be of such character and so located, discharged or fired; so as, in the opinion of the Chief, after proper investigation, not to be hazardous to property or endanger any person.

§ 93.44 MINORS PROHIBITED FROM PURCHASING OR USING FIREWORKS; PARENTAL
RESPONSIBILITY.
No parent or guardian of a minor shall furnish money or a thing of value to a minor for the purchase of fireworks. No parent or guardian shall encourage, act in conjunction with, or in any manner, instigate or aid a minor in the commission of an act prohibited by this subchapter. The commission of the offense by the minor on property under the control or owned by the parent or guardian shall be prima facie proof that the relation or guardian was instigating or aiding the minor.

§ 93.45 SEIZURE OF FIREWORKS.
Articles falling under the definition of fireworks under this subchapter shall be considered contraband if found in the city and shall be subject to seizure by any bona fide police officer or firefighter of the city. Fireworks seized under this subchapter shall be given to the custody of the Fire Chief or his designee who shall dispose of said fireworks.

§ 93.99 PENALTY.
(A) Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of §§ 93.01 through 93.29 or the Uniform Fire Code or Code of Ordinances of the City of Corinth, as amended hereby, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction in the Municipal Court of the city shall be subject to a fine not to exceed the sum of $2,000 for each offense and each and every day such offense shall continue shall be deemed to constitute a separate offense.

(B) Any person judged in violation of any part of §§ 93.41 through 93.45 is deemed guilty of a misdemeanor. Each violation shall be punished by a fine not to exceed $500.
