UNT System College of Pharmacy

Welcome to the web site of the University of North Texas (UNT) System College of Pharmacy. While the College is based at the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC), it serves all three components of the University of North Texas, which includes the University of North Texas located in Denton and the University of North Texas-Dallas. The UNTHSC is located in Fort Worth, Texas in the midst of the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) metropolitan area. With more than 6.5 million residents, DFW is the 4th largest and one of the most rapidly growing urban areas in America.

The global vision of the college of pharmacy is to make healthcare better. We are convinced that making healthcare better in the DFW area, Texas, and beyond crucially depends upon improved teamwork of a variety of healthcare professionals and improved access of patients to healthcare. We believe that pharmacy professionals in turn are crucial to both improved healthcare teamwork and patient access. The UNT System College of Pharmacy will be the first pharmacy school in Texas located on an academic health science center campus where pharmacists can be educated along side future physicians, physician assistants, physical therapists, public health professionals, and biomedical researchers. The UNTHSC also has a strong interprofessional health education partnership with the nursing, nutrition, and social work programs at nearby Texas Christian University. Additionally, pharmacy education will occur in an environment of biomedical discovery present at the UNTHSC and in the midst of a robust pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and clinical trial industry present in the DFW area.

The College of Pharmacy has been granted pre-candidate accreditation status that allowed its inaugural class to begin the program in August of 2013.  The inaugural class along with the College faculty and staff are shown in the photo below.  Please see the Accreditation Link on the left for more detailed information about the accreditation process.
