Wheely fun: Supermodel Cindy Crawford and her mini-me daughter Kaia ramp up the pedal power on bicycle ride

Pedal pals Cindy Crawford and her look-alike daughter Kaia Gerber took advantage of the autumn sunshine to jump on their bicycles for a ride together in Malibu, California, on Monday.

The supermodel mom and her 12-year-old were spotted on the popular path that runs parallel to the beach.

Smiling broadly, the 47-year-old pedalled her black bike in New Balance trainers and wore black leggings to avoid getting any material stuck in the chain.

Cindy, sporting large sunglasses, pulled on a grey cardigan over a co-ordinating T-shirt to ward against the breeze that blew her long auburn hair behind her.  

She watched over Kaia carefully, riding beside her and behind her at times, to keep her tween safe.

The happy youngster, who is the image of her mother, looked more than a match for Cindy, speeding along on a light blue bike.

She also wore black leggings and a cute white jumper decorated with little black dogs.

Kaia, sporting a black choker around her neck, bears an uncanny resemblance to Cindy sharing her famous smile and bone structure.

The actress has been married to Rande Gerber, 51, the owner of the Midnight Oil bar chain, since 1998 and aside from Kaia they have a son, Presley, 14.

The couple took their daughter to the Malibu Boys And Girls Club Gala last month, where they rubbed shoulders with Pierce Brosnan and the Bachelor's Chris Harrison, who emceed the event.

It wasn't too long ago that the young beauty looked like she would follow her mother down the runway, as Kaia became the face of Versace's kids' line of clothing last year.

Her mother also modelled for the Italian designer back in the Nineties.

However, Cindy decided that modelling wasn't the best path for her daughter at the moment, and put a hold on her career.

Twelve year old like to dress up and play with make-up, nothing strange about that. Make-up or no make-up, she is a naturally beautiful girl with a lovely face.

Sorry, but a 12 year old shouldn't be wearing that amount of make up. She's out on a bike ride and yet has a full face of foundation, eye make-up & lipstick....it's not teaching her the right message....
