The US 290 project in Brenham will make improvements from the BNSF railroad to Woodward Creek. The highlights of the project include:

• Construct an interchange at the intersection of FM 577 (Blue Bell Road)
• Construct an interchange at the intersection of Business US 290 (Market St.)
• Conversion of the frontage roads to one-way operation
• Addition of U-turn lanes under the existing bridge at SH 36
• Relocation of entrance and exit ramps
• Lowering of the frontage road under the BNSF railroad bridge

U.S. 290 Stringer Street Overpass

Webber, LLC has been awarded the contract to construct the Stringer Street Overpass on US 290 in Brenham. This $8.28 million project will begin when the current project reaches Phase III and US 290 mainlane traffic is moved to the frontage roads.
