DEQ's Enforcement Program coordinates with law enforcement agencies in support of the investigation and prosecution of environmental crime.  The most serious environmental violations may be referred for criminal prosecution to the appropriate office of the Commonweath's Attorney, the Office of the Attorney General or the U.S. Attorney for federal violations and state violations in delegated programs.

The Enforcement Program has a state-wide presence and coordinates closely with federal, state and local investigative and prosecutorial authorities to thoroughly investigate and prosecute environmental crimes.
