HEALTH SCIENCE CENTER GRADUATES MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS

FORT WORTH, Texas – More than 140 students are expected to graduate from the University of North Texas Health Science Center at a May 20 commencement ceremony at the Will Rogers Coliseum. Kay Granger, U.S. House of Representatives, will be the guest speaker for the 2 p.m. event.

The graduating classes include 106 doctors of osteopathic medicine from the health science center’s Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, 9 students from the center’s Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and 28 from its School of Public Health. This is the 27th commencement for the health science center, a fully accredited, public institution located in Fort Worth’s Cultural District.

Current U.S. House of Representatives Member of Congress Kay Granger was the Mayor of Fort Worth from 1991 to 1995. Kay Granger is the first Republican woman to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives from Texas. Originally elected in 1996, she is also the first woman and first Republican to represent District 12 in the House in a century.
