Price’s research and publication interests are in the areas of tax compliance and administration and accounting education, where he has published numerous articles.  He is the co-author of College Accounting, one of the most widely used college accounting textbooks. As a member of the faculty of the College of Business Administration at UNT, Price twice received the College’s Outstanding Teaching Award and also received the University’s President’s Council Award.

Price is a member of the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Accounting Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Taxation Association.  He served as chair of the American Taxation Association’s Subcommittee on Relations with the Internal Revenue Service and Treasury and chair of the Minority Initiatives Committee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

The former district chair for the Wisdom Trail District of the Circle Ten Council for the Boy Scouts of America, Price currently serves on the Executive Board of the Circle Ten Council.  He is also a member of the Board of Trustees for the Dallas Historical Society; the Dallas Friday Group; and Uplift Education.
