My 3y/o daughter and I have gone for several "Toddler Thursdays" and we both adore it! From the safe free-play area of the Family Center [with magnetic wall and magnents, books, puppets, light tables and artist info] to the toddler friendly crafts in the Purple Workshop [today was painting with red, yellow and white white to make orange for fall, yes, smocks were provided as well as all the materials!], to Story Time incorporating pieces of art on display [and getting the kids to talk about, look at and think about the piece], to toddler friendly docent led tours, everything is engaging, encouraging, interactive, creative and educational [shhhh!]. The Art Lab [open on dates listed on their website] is great as well- incoporating technology, stop motion, and sculpture creating with art for delightful hands on experiences for the toddlers and the parents together. Each Thursday we go, we are always welcomed warmly, treated well by the staff and volunteers, and leave hours later, feeling positive, happy and eager to return again. Thank you all for the wonderful things you are doing to bring families closer to art, creativity, and each other!
