2009
Congratulations go to Cheryl McQueen and Indra Bhagat (pictured left to right) for winning the 2009 CoB Staff Recognition Awards. They each received a certificate, an engraved clock, and a $500.00 VISA gift card to recognize their excellent work. The winners were announced at the April 24th faculty meeting after being nominated by a co-worker and being selected by the Staff Award Committee. CoB staff members who are eligible to receive the award have been employed in the college at least one year and have not received the award in the last three years.
All this year's winners are very busy women:
- Cheryl McQueen has been with the College of Business since January 2001. She worked for the Chair of the Department of Accounting until November 2006 when she moved to the Dean’s Office to become the Senior Assistant to the Dean. Cheryl reports directly to Dean Finley Graves and assists him with daily tasks, reports, and special events. She works closely with the faculty, staff, and university administrators. She is also highly involved with various search committees and plans special events for the College, recently working on the university’s “Perspectives in Immigration” conference. Cheryl is currently a member of the new Business Leadership Building User’s Group Committee which works closely with university delegates and the architects for planning the new business building scheduled to open in Spring 2011. Outside of work, Cheryl enjoys spending time with her daughter and working in stained and fused glass.
- Indra Bhagat is an Academic Advisor in the Office of Academic Advising and Student Services and has worked for the University for 3 ½ years. She assists undergraduate students in planning the completion of their degrees, plans and organizes information sessions for prospective students, and trains new advisors. She also recently cross-trained in the Graduate Programs Office to help undergraduates more effectively transition into graduate programs.
2008
Congratulations go to Konni Stubblefield, Inez Loche, and Stacy Suits (pictured left to right) for winning the 2008 COBA Staff Recognition Awards. They each received a certificate, an engraved clock, and a $500.00 VISA gift card to recognize their excellent work. The winners were announced at the April 25th faculty meeting after being nominated by a co-worker and being selected by the Staff Award Committee. COBA staff members who are eligible to receive the award have been employed in the college at least one year and have not received the award in the last five years.
All three of this year's winners are very busy women:
- Konni Stubblefield has been an Academic Advisor in COBA for 10 years and has been with UNT since starting as a student worker in 1990. She has advised all levels of Accounting students, MBA/MS students and PhD students. She helps process applications, degree plans, and substitutions for MBA/MS students. Konni also visits with prospective and graduate non degree students new to the program.
- Inez Loche provides support and assistance in the operational functions of the COBA Office of Undergraduate Advising and Student Services. She has been with the college since October 2003.
- Stacy Suits is the Administrative Services Officer for the Information Technology & Decision Sciences Office. She has been in the ITDS Department for 1 year providing support to the chair of the ITDS Department. Stacy has been with UNT for almost 24 years.
2007
Congratulations go to Shirley White, Kim Bryant and Virginia Jones (pictured left to right) for winning the 2007 COBA Staff Recognition Awards. They each received a $500.00 VISA gift card and a commemorative gift to recognize their excellent work. The winners were announced at the April faculty meeting after being nominated by a co-worker and being selected by the Staff Award Committee. COBA staff members who are eligible to receive the award have been employed in the college at least one year and have not received the award in the last five years.
All three of this year's winners are very busy women:
- Shirley White provides support for the Center for Logistics Education and Research. She has over 35 years of service at UNT and comes to the center part-time after retiring from the Center for Continuing Education and Conference Management.
- Kim Bryant is an Administrative Assistant in the FIREL Department and has worked for the University for 8 1/2 years. She is the liaison between students and professors and is the FIREL textbook coordinator. She processes all travel requests, reimbursements, purchase orders and requisitions, and maintains hourly payroll and the FIREL inventory. In addition to these duties she supervises student employees, and helps manage the dept.
- Virginia Jones is the Administrative Services Officer for the Department of Management. She has been working at the University for over 16 years and supports the Management Department Chair in day to day operations.
2005-2006
Annually, the College of Business Adminstration recognizes three staff members who have excelled in their support of continuous quality improvement in the college.
The 2006 winners were (from left to right) Sheila McWillams, Department of Management; Chris Stoermer, Information & Learning Technologies Center; and Linda Branson, Information & Learning Technologies Center.
Winners of the Staff Recognition Awards are nominated by their peers who submit letters of support and reccomendation highlighting their contributions in working with our students as well as other staff members.
Each of the winners received a personally engraved clock commemorating the award along with a certificate and a $500.00 Visa gift card .
The College of Business Staff Recognition Award was first given in 2000 and was created by former Dean Jared Hazelton.
