Message From The Chair
The Department of Accounting at the University of North Texas (UNT) has a long and storied history in accounting. While many of our distinguished graduates’ make their mark in the North Texas Region, our success spreads throughout Texas and the nation. Our trademark is our hard working and dedicated graduates in all areas of accounting: tax, audit, accounting information systems, industry, and government. They are leaders in industry who have become CEOs, CFOs, COOs, and owners of corporate entities.
Many of our graduates have become certified public accountants, certified management accountants, and certified internal auditors, as they have advanced in their wide-ranging careers. Our BS/MS five-year program offers the highest level of education available for individuals who want to experience a career in accounting or accounting related fields. Our BBA accounting degree offers a four-year program which prepares graduates for other goals such as law school, industry, and even careers in the FBI.
It is indeed an honor to be the Chair of the Department of Accounting at UNT and it is my responsibility to oversee a top flight program. To that end, our faculty are highly effective as teachers and successful researchers, all necessary ingredients to be a contemporary accounting program in the twenty-first century. Our program is a leading program in the North Texas Region and in the state. For prospective students, our faculty are dedicated to excellence in the classroom and will challenge students to reach their potential.
