About Freshman Orientation

Orientation is the first step to a successful transition to the University of North Texas.  All new students are required to attend an orientation session.  Freshman Orientation is reserved specifically for new students who have just graduated from high school, regardless of the number of earned college credits.

Part of the Freshman Orientation experience is living in the residence halls. All orientation participants are required to spend the night in te residence hall during their orientation session.

  • It is recommended that students attend the earliest orientation date possible for optimal course availability.
  • All freshman who graduated from high school in 2013, regardless of the number of earned college credits, are considered freshman.
  • All students are required to participate in all orientation activities throughout the 3-day experience. Failure to do so can hinder a student's ability to register for classes.
