Thomas Moorman, Ed.D.

Thomas Moorman, Ed.D., is vice president for student affairs at the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth. He is responsible for coordinating student life from matriculation through graduation and works closely with school deans, chairs, and program directors to address student needs and create an atmosphere that stimulates learning. As head of the Division of Student Affairs, Dr. Moorman oversees the activities of the Financial Aid Office, Office of the Registrar, Academic Support Office, Student Life Office, Founder s Activity Center, Student Development Office, international student services, and student conduct and discipline.

Dr. Moorman started at the Health Science Center in 1994 and has served in several different capacities. Throughout that time he has been recognized by the Medical Student Government Association, Graduate Student Association, and Public Health Student Association for distinguished service. The Medical Student Government Association renamed their annual unsung hero award after him.

 

Dr. Moorman earned his Doctor of Education degree from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, in 2002 and was recognized as the Outstanding Doctoral Student in the Higher Education Program (1999). He completed both his bachelor s degree in psychology and his master s degree in educational psychology from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.

Dr. Moorman served as president of the Texas Association of College and University Student Personnel Administrators from 2006 to 2007. In the fall of 2003, he was recognized as the Outstanding Mid-Level Student Affairs Professional in Texas. Additionally, Dr. Moorman served on the Fort Worth and Arlington Chapter Board of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation from 2004 to 2006. He is also a 2005 graduate of the Leadership Fort Worth program and a mentor for the LeaderKids program.
