Virtual Lab Feedback

What Students Say

“Some type of CD-Burning software should be on all the computers that have a CD-RW drives for those who do not want to use zip-disks.”

Response: CoB's lab computers now have CD-R/W drives. Students are now able to burn CD's using Windows XP's built-in software. Writable or Rewriteable CD's can be bought at the UNT bookstore, electronic stores and online web sites.

There is also other storage options available to you besides ZIP disks, including USB drives that can be purchased at any office supply or compter retailer for up to 250MB of storage space; your UNT Student storage which is space on UNT servers that you can access from the Internet or from the network from any computer on campus. For more information on questions related to media available in the labs, visit the FAQ page.

“This was my first time in a computer lab at UNT, and the staff in the CoB lab were great. They helped me get started and were available for any question with a smile. Thanks for having such great people working here to help us!”

“I am an accounting major here at UNT. There have been many occasions where I have had problems with the computers here (not being able to hear out of the headphones, the comp erasing my zip disk, the comp trying to reformat my zip disk, not being able to save data to my student storage) mostly at my fault. Your lab attendants are always here when I seem to be having problems and have no problem helping me. They are always friendly and never complain about my lack of computer skills. They have even stayed late to help me retrieve my information off the computer. I just noticed the feedback icon and wanted to let someone know how nice they are.”

“Hi. I have been using this lab for more than a year now. I was pleasantly surprised to see a newly designed desktop last month. It's very informative. Especially I liked the comments to help the students like writing down their names on disks etc... I also like that FAQ section. There were some questions which I really did not know, like, the safe way to remove zip disks. Well done CoB!!! I really feel now that I am in the information age. The monitors are very friendly and helpful.”

“I like using the lab in the business bldg. on the 3rd floor because there are always available stations and it doesn't take forever to get your printouts. The one downstairs takes too long and is full sometimes.”

Response: We are currently working to try and find new ways to.

“I am taking time out to comment on the labs and the lab attendents. The lab here has a great environment because it is not as crowed as the other labs on campus. The lab here is more "roomier"; you do not bump into someone every time you get up. The closing time is good. The lab attendants on the night shift are nice. The workers here act if they are about to get a raise or somthing!”

“The labs are much better now that there is talking and tutoring allowed. I as a student, really appreciate that.”

“Tonight, I was in the CoB lab. I was completely stressing about some test that I have on tommorrow. My computer seemed to not want to cooperate, and I was very frustrated to say the least. The lab attendants in the 3rd floor CoB lab really helped me to fix my computer situation. Not only were they nice, and very friendly, but they were compassionate to me in my time of need. Not considering the fact that it was already almost closing time. They were still receptive and willing to give all they could to make sure that I had a smooth and calm experience. I really appreciate their hardwork and dedication to the CoB Lab. They handled me with professionalism and a sincere desire to keep me satisfied until the very end. They did not merely stop caring when the problem stopped, but they came back to make sure that I was still receiving quality computer output. They are excellent employees of the CoB Lab system. Thank you for such quality workers.”

“Monitors here are GREAT! I like the clarity and the size. The attendents are awesome too! Alot of help and really friendly!!”

“I would like to thank the lab monitor for his friendly attitude. He is very helpful. Again thank you and keep up the good work guys.”

“We need more lab tutors for classes. The lab monitors are also very helpful for me even though I know that they cannot help me on my assignments.”

“All I needed was the Team Lab phone number, and I have yet to find it in all these pages. Everything looks great, but it is frustrated that I can't find contact info on these labs.”

Response: We have added the lab phone numbers to the CoB Labs home page.

“You outdid yourselfs with the Active Desktop Background in the labs... 2 Thumbs way up!!!”
