No. 2 Limestone posted a convincing 21-9 victory against Queens (N.C.) in the Conference Carolinas championship game to earn its sixth consecutive league title on Sunday at Williams Stadium.
No. 11 Stonehill claimed a key regional victory with a 16-12 decision against 10th-ranked Dowling. Kelsey Shannahan compiled a career-high eight points with four goals and four assists.
Thanks to Kathleen Conese's four goals and four ground balls, No. 7 Le Moyne jumped out to a large lead and fended off a second-half rally from No. 4 Adelphi for a narrow 13-11 victory.
The first regional rankings of the 2013 season have been released and feature Limestone leading the South Region, while LIU Post is top-ranked in the North Region.
