Instructional design is to courses as architecture is to buildings.  It is a systematic process as well as the result of analyzing, design, developing, implementing, and evaluating instructional products.  In our office instructional design services includes the how-to related to technical skills as well as the selection, recommending, and applying appropriate learning theories and instructional strategies.

Instructional design and development is an intensive endeavor that is best done with a team.  The team-based approach ensures that we develop instructional products that meets the needs of our students, accrediting agencies, potential employers, and faculty.  Our team includes

  • Insructional Designer (DLIT Employee)
  • Instructional Product Developer (DLIT Employee)
  • Subject Matter Experts (Faculty Members)
  • Digital Resource Expert (Library Employee)
  • Employer-Partnership Liason

The project begins with an initial consultation.  The initial consultation will help define the scope and time requirements for the project.  If you are planning to deliver a hybrid or online course or a technology-rich course, there are defined processes and procedures that are standing operating procedures at UNT Dallas.  You can view these procedures on our Sharepoint site (http://untranet.unt.edu/untdallas/dlit). Please contact us to schedule an initial consultation, UNTDDistance@unt.edu
