The Murphy center awarded fourteen scholarships totaling $17,000. Funding was also awarded to three New Venture Creation Contest finalists:

The 2011 BDO, USA LLP Leadership Luncheon

The Murphy Center awarded eleven scholarships totaling $13,630.50.  Funding was also awarded to three New Venture Creation Contest finalists:

An added component of the NVCC, new in 2011, is the Social Enterprise Venture Contest (SEVC).  This award of $5,000 also went to Forward Tutoring for demonstrating the greatest social impact through their new venture.

The Murphy Center awarded fourteen scholarships totaling $18,500.We also provided funding for Nurture n' Nature (founded by Amy Edwards and Leticia Jaimes), the winner of the 2009 New Venture Creation Contest, in the amount of $25,000. Former Dallas Cowboy Roger Staubach delivered the Keynote Speech and Mark Speese was honored with the Murphy Award for Lifetime Achievement in Entrepreneurship.

The Murphy Center announced eleven scholarships totaling $12,500.We also provided funding for three student ventures - Jeremy Dean, Blaire Chilcoat and Amanda Stewart of Nature’s Freedom Wildlife Sanctuary, the winner of the 2008 New Venture Creation Contest, were awarded $25,000; Edwin DuBois, Arnel Rolfe, Allen Cater of The Tax Brothers, who came in second, received $15,000; and Paul Passmore and Joel Harrison of figlist.com, the third-place venture received $10,000. Football legend Archie Manning delivered the Keynote Speech and the Murphy Award for Lifetime Achievement in Entrepreneurship was presented to F. Trammell Crow.

The Murphy Center announced scholarships and provided funding for three student ventures - David Rosenbaum with North Texas Pyrotechnic Productions, Inc., the winner of the 2007 New Venture Creation Contest, was awarded $25,000; Joshua Joseph with Aphanovi, who came in second, received $15,000; and Heather Wilson with Upgraded Solutions (Think Pot), the third-place venture received $10,000. Nolan Ryan gave the Keynote Speech and awarded with the first Texas Star Award. A Texas Star is awarded to someone who lives in Texas, who has contributed to the economy of Texas, and who has helped Texans to stay grounded and believe in the Free Enterprise System.

The Murphy Center announced scholarships and provided funding for three student ventures - Diane Davis of Jewelry Gone Wild, the winner of the 2006 Shirley Murphy Business Plan Competition, was awarded $15,000; Antonio Oliver and Joel Miller with Aloha'6, who came in second, received $10,000; and Ryker Exum of Quicktec Consulting, the third-place venture received $5,000. H. Ross Perot delivered the Keynote Speech and the Murphy Award for Lifetime Achievement in Entrepreneurship was presented to Nelson Bunker Hunt.

The Murphy Center announced scholarships and provided funding for three student ventures - Justin Thomason and Tucker Covington of E-Opportunity, the winner of the 2005 New Venture Creation Contest, were awarded $15,000; Daniel Strebe of Strebe Imports, who came in second, received $10,000; and Steve Basmajian with Freelink Wireless Services, the third-place venture received $5,000. Baseball great Tommy Lasorda delivered the Keynote Speech and the Murphy Award for Lifetime Achievement in Entrepreneurship was presented to H. Ross Perot.

The Murphy Center announced scholarships and provided funding for three student ventures - Neha Agrawal, Mickey Millsap, Jack Manickham, and Matthew Chasen of UShip, the winner of the 2004 Shirley Murphy Business Plan Contest, were awarded $15,000; Jason Davis, Tamsi New, and Adam Reese of CSWN.com (CollegeStudentNeeds Work.com), who came in second, received $10,000; and Amanda Jo Seeliger, Brien Davis, Rick Bosworth, Kent Allison, and Constans Salcedo with LoDrag, Inc, the third-place venture received $5,000. Boxer and grill-master George Foreman delivered the Keynote Speech and the Murphy Award for Lifetime Achievement in Entrepreneurship was presented to Ebby Halliday.

The Murphy Center provided funding for three student ventures - Scott Evans, Donnie Vanelli, and Chris Schaefer of Advanced Laser Composites, the winner of the 2003 Shirley Murphy Business Plan Contest, were awarded $25,000; David Spina and Taylor Kelly of Cooking in College, who came in second, received $15,000; and Jow Zirnhelt, Scott Evans, George Stevens, Sridhar Pushpavanam, and Lawrence Samuel with Chipotle Business Group, the third-place venture received $10,000. Bill Grimes delivered the Keynote Speech and the Murphy Award for Lifetime Achievement in Entrepreneurship was presented to Sam Wyly.
