Summary

The University of North Texas is committed to promoting a productive and positive work environment for all of its employees. In support of this, the Employee Relations toolkit is designed to provide resources available to you for matters which effect the employment relationship. Human Resources is a great resource for consultative services including:

  • Consulting with individuals and departments to foster positive working relationships
  • Providing coaching and training regarding the University’s performance management process
  • Advising and training departments on corrective actions and administering the University’s progressive disciplinary process
  • Advising individuals and departments on matters and policies related to employee relations
  • Supporting the campus community through administrative processes including complaints, grievances, and appeals related to various employee relations matters
  • Providing conflict resolution options including: facilitation, mediation and training.
  • Providing consultative assistance with reorganizations and organizational development to create a work environment, which motivates and inspires people to contribute at a high level and experience job satisfaction
  • Providing guidance, training and informational resources regarding recognition programs
  • Provide guidance and consultation regarding ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) and accommodations for current employees


If you need to discuss a matter with Human Resources staff, confidentiality will be maintained to the extent possible. Some issues may require further investigation or consultation with other campus departments. In such cases, information will only be shared with other individuals on a need-to-know basis.
