The University of North Texas Health Science Center plays an active role in the health of the public through service to the community.

Students at all levels learn about opportunities in medicine, health and science through the Health Science Center's special school programs.

The Texas Center for Health Disparities was established at the UNT Health Science Center to address health disparities among minorities.  It is one of only two National Institutes of Health-designated EXPORT  Centers in the state of Texas.

Popular community events like the annual Hispanic Wellness Fair and Cowtown Marathon were co-founded by the Health Science Center.
