The vision of the Office of Emergency Management is to build a disaster resilient university and become a model for other higher education institutions.
The mission of the Office of Emergency Management is to facilitate a comprehensive emergency management program at the University of North Texas. We are dedicated to providing a coordinated approach to a natural or man-made disaster.
PROGRAM GOALS
Goal 1: Increase awareness and preparedness for students, parents, and faculty/staff.
Goal 2: Emphasize an all-hazards approach to planning
Goal 3: Enhance capabilities for responding to and recovering from disasters
Goal 4: Develop a strong emergency preparedness culture
Goal 5: Adapt to an ever changing environment
KEY THEME
Collaboration: Partnerships within the university as well as alliances with external constituencies will cultivate growth in emergency preparedness activities and response capabilities.
