Profile
Lili Sun began as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting at UNT in fall 2008. She comes to us after being on the faculty at Rutgers University the past four years. Lili received her Ph.D. in accounting and information systems from the University of Kansas in 2004, where she also received the Doctoral Student Teaching Award and Best Doctoral Dissertation Award. She also holds a B.A. degree in accounting and finance from Peking University in China. She brings eight years of university teaching experience to the classroom and will teach financial accounting at UNT. Lili’s research interests are in the area of financial accounting and auditing, and some of her publications include, Auditing, A Journal of Practice and Theory and European Journal of Operational Research.
Non-Academic Interests
Her husband, Zhenhua, holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and will join the Department of Engineering Technology at UNT this fall as a Visiting Assistant Professor. Together, they have a new son, Max, who was born this past June. Lili’s personal interests include traveling, swimming, and listening to music with her family.
