The Department of Surgery’s goal is to function as a comprehensive academic unit and to develop leaders in the field of surgery. Our three objectives are: state of the art clinical care for our patients, an optimal academic surgical environment for our students, and to pioneer research activities.
The Department of Surgery is comprised of the following divisions: General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, and Cardiothoracic Surgery. Many of our faculty members are nationally and internationally recognized with leadership and academic appointments in national and international surgical societies.
