The mission of Office of the Chief Economist is to support NCUA's safety and soundness goals through providing economic intelligence and enhancing NCUAs understanding of emerging microeconomic and macroeconomic risks, producing meaningful and robust modeling and risk identification tools, participating in agency and inter-agency policy development, and developing new initiatives.
