Sen. Franken Presents WWII Veteran with Overdue Medal

On January 12, Sen. Franken presented Chester Hoeft of Princeton, MN with the Knight of the Legion of Honor Medal from the nation of France for his service to help liberate France during WWII. 

"The Knight of the Legion of Honor medal is the highest honor that France can grant to those who have done extraordinary things for France," said Sen. Franken. "You and all the Americans who served there are heroes to France. And you are a hero to me. It's therefore my great honor to present you with the Knight of the Legion of Honor medal from France. Thank you."
