The Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse was established by the Legislature to be an independent body that would review and coordinate New Jersey’s efforts regarding the education, prevention, treatment, research and evaluation for, and public awareness of, alcoholism and drug abuse.
Additionally, the Council maintains the Municipal Alliance Program, which is a network of volunteer driven municipally based education and public awareness programs. You may read more about the activities of the Governor’s Council in the Quick Link section
