  Cancer Education and Early Detection

NJCEED LogoThe New Jersey Cancer Education and Early Detection (NJCEED) Program provides comprehensive outreach, education and screening services for breast, cervical, colorectal and prostate cancers.

The services provided by NJCEED include:

  • Education
  • Outreach
  • Screening*
  • Case Management
  • Tracking
  • Follow-up
  • Facilitation into Treatment

Persons eligible for these services must be at or below 250% of the Federal Poverty Level and be uninsured or under-insured.

Program services are provided through 25 contracted Lead Agencies; each county in NJ has at least one Lead Agency. For more information on where you can get free screening services, click on NJCEED Screening Locations or call 1-800-328-3838.

*The NJCEED Program follows the American Cancer Society's cancer screening guidelines.

Request for Applications, Cancer Prevention and Treatment Services

The New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS), Division of Family Health Services, is announcing the availability of State Fiscal Year 2009 funds for the development of exemplary clinical cancer services aimed at assuring “state of the art” treatment and prevention across New Jersey and increasing access to new technologiesand quality cancer services for the State’s underserved and uninsured populations. Funding will be available to licensed New Jersey hospitals that meet the applicant eligibility requirements delineated in the RFP.
