2017 will mark the 100th anniversary of America’s entry into World War 1. The NJ Historical Commission is proud to partner with the NJ State Archives, NJ State Museum, NJ Historic Preservation Office, Rutgers University, and the NJ National Guard Militia Museum on a website initiative to remember New Jersey’s unique and considerable contributions to the Allied victory in The Great War.
Part of the larger U.S. World War 1 Centennial Commission effort, the New Jersey-specific page not only features a historic overview, but continually updated WW1-related stories, calendar of events, and listing of WW1 sites across the state.
Join Gretchen Sullivan Sorin for this hands-on workshop that will provide you with useful resources for offering more inclusive programming. The workshop will provide a broad overview on what diversity means, offer successful examples of how other museums are working to serve broader audiences, and help you to feel more comfortable talking about diversity.
Eileen Morales will offer an introduction to the basic skills, principles, and techniques of successful grant writing. Attendees will learn helpful tools and tips for writing successful grant proposals and enhancing essential grantsmanship skills.
Co-hosted by the NJ Historic Trust, NJ Historical Commission, and Friends of NJ Heritage, this two-part workshop series will give you the tools to evaluate your organization's current financial health and will present strategies to improve and sustain fiscal health in the future.
