The Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel CM/ECF System will be placed in read-only mode due to a building-wide power outage beginning 4:00 p.m. Friday, January 18. While in read-only mode, you will not be able to electronically file documents. You will be able to view documents (documents that do not require a CM/ECF login/password), and docket sheets.

  • Freedom Riders is a traveling exhibition developed by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History in partnership with AMERICAN EXPERIENCE. Major funding for the traveling exhibition provided by the National e Endowment for the Humanities. Exclusive corporate funding for AMERICAN EXPERIENCE is provided by Liberty Mutual. Major funding provided by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. Additional funding provided by Lynn Bay Dayton, Rodger & Dawn Nordblom, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and public television viewers.


In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday, the U.S. Courts and The Judicial Learning Center will host a national touring exhibition. The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History's "Freedom Riders" will be displayed on the 3rd Floor of the Thomas F. Eagleton U.S. Courthouse in January 2013.

This engagement is free and open to the public, and group visits are available. The courthouse is open Mon-Fri, 8:00AM-5:30PM, excluding federal holidays.

The Judicial Learning Center is pleased to announce the new website at:

  • The site features information about the Judicial Learning Center in the Thomas F. Eagleton Courthouse, and includes opportunities to register for a tour, apply for a transportation grant, or request further information.

    The site also includes content-rich areas for students, teachers, and the public. The Student Center helps learners of all ages explore the judicial branch of government, and test their new knowledge with interactive Student Challenges. The Educator Center provides a variety of resources for teachers of civics, government, and history. There are simple, printer-ready resources and in-depth lesson plans available to correspond with each topic section. Many items are already available, and additional content will be added regularly in the weeks to come.

APPOINTMENT OF TWO U.S. BANKRUPTCY JUDGES

The United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit seeks applications from highly qualified candidates for a fourteen-year appointment as United States Bankruptcy Judges for the District of Minnesota. One position is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. One position is headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota. The vacancies will occur on June 1, 2013 and July 1, 2013 respectively.

The Judicial Conference of the United States authorized an increase in the electronic public access (EPA) fee, from $.08 to $.10 per page, which will take effect on April 01, 2012.
