Information assurance courseware certification
Information Assurance Courseware Certification
The Committee on National Security Systems and the National Security Agency have RE-certified that Kennesaw State University offers a set of courseware that has been reviewed by National Level Information Assurance Subject Matter Experts and determined to meet National Training Standard for Information Systems Security Professionals (NSTISSI 4011, and CNSS 4012, 4013E, 4014E) for academic years 2010 - 2012.
KSU was originally certified in 2003 & recertified in 2006.

BS-Information Security and Assurance
The BS-ISA degree program is the first of its kind at a public institution in the Southeastern U.S. In response to National and State need for graduates with education in Information Security, the KSU Computer Science and Information Systems Department, in cooperation with state and federal law enforcement and agencies, state security officials, and local businesses, has put forward an expansive security education program, with equal emphases on both the technical and managerial aspects of the field.
According to Dr. Michael E. Whitman, the designer and coordinator of the degree, “This program places Kennesaw at the forefront of undergraduate Information Security Education in the southeast. MInor in information security and assurance
Minor in Information Security and Assurance
Effective Spring 2009, students enrolled in another major at KSU may select the Minor in Information Secuirty and Assurance. This program includes six 3-hour courses from the BS-ISA curriculum:

- ISA 2100 Introduction to Information Security & Assurance
- ISA 3200 Network Security
- ISA 3300 Management of Information Security & Assurance
And One from
- ISA 3210 Client Systems Security

Undergraduate Certificate in Information Security
Specifically designed for individuals not pursuing a complete degree program, the Undergraduate Certificate in Information Security and Assurance includes five 3-hour courses from the BS-ISA.
Immediately upon completion of the courses, students may petition the Certificate coordination and receive their certificate.This program includes:

- ISA 4330 Incident Response and Contingency Planning

Specifically designed for individuals who have already completed an undergraduate degree and who are not currently enrolled in a graduate degree program, the Graduate Certificate in Information Security and Assurance includes four 3-hour courses from the MS-IS.
