Seeking the Greatest Good with Your Help

A kayaker goes down Middle Falls on The Upepr Lewis River

Gifford Pinchot National Forest employees would like public input in the process of reviewing the forest’s outfitter and guide program. An outfitter or guide is a commercial entity offering clients expanded recreational opportunities by providing specialized knowledge, skills, experience and equipment general recreationists might not otherwise possess. Outfitters and guides must apply for and retain a special use permit from the forest in order to operate there.

Interested individuals are invited to provide comments via an online questionnaire. This feedback will be considered as part of the forest’s analysis of the current outfitter and guide program. Please see the attached document for more information. Please also print, post and share with as many people as possible.

Help Mount Adams Institute Fill Peterson Prairie Cabin Void

The cabin that will be moved when funds are raised.

The Mount Adams Institute (MAI) will raise money to move an existing historic building to replace the burned Peterson Prairie Cabin. The existing historic building is scheduled for demolition. Moving it onto the Peterson Prairie site would save the structure and fill the void.

The Mount Adams institute has set up a donation site on their website.
