The All-USA and All-State Community College Academic Teams program annually recognizes three 20-member "Teams" of outstanding two-year college students, offering stipends of $2,500 each to the top 20 students. In addition to being considered for team recognition, up to six Reynolds nominees (two per campus) will receive a stipend for being selected to represent our student body. The Multicultural Enrichment Council, Music and Dance Committee, is hosting a "Dia de los Muertos" celebration honoring departed loved ones. Guitarist Ross Harvey will be performing music from Spanish-speaking regions of the world. Guests are invited to bring a picture of a departed loved one to post on the Wall of Remembrance.
Come out and celebrate the opening of the Reynolds Faculty and Staff Art Show, featuring the creative works of Reynolds employees. Paintings, drawings, prints and photographs are all on display with some works offered for sale. A small portion of each sale will be donated to the J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College Educational Fund. The Short Pump Symphonette will perform and light refreshments will be offered.
Throughout history there have been epic battles such as Hamilton vs. Burr, Godzilla vs. Mothra, Frankenstein vs. Igor, and now the School of Mathematics, Science and Engineering presents "Downtown vs. Parham", an epic battle of the brains. Come out and watch Team Downtown and Team Parham amaze and astonish at the duel of the year - you won't want to miss it!
