Welcome, this is the web site for the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, District 13, covering 400,000 square miles and the four states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. Commodore Peter Raiswell

I’m Peter Raiswell, Commodore of District 13, and I invite you to explore this site to learn how we function as America’s Volunteer Lifesavers.

Established by Congress in 1939, the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is the uniformed civilian element of the Coast Guard in the United States.

Our primary mission is Recreational Boating Safety, together with augmentation support to the active duty Coast Guard. You will find our members throughout our four state area. We patrol in boats on salt water and the inland lakes, we fly patrols in the air, we provide Vessel Examination checks to private vessels on numerous waterways. We conduct Public Education courses on all aspects of boating, with an emphasis on safety and safe boating practices. Our goal is to help make boating experiences safer for those who use our waterways. We work alongside the active duty Cost Guard in many areas. You may see us at public events, boat shows and in schools as well as on the water and in the air. We are the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary!

If what you see excites and interests you, we welcome new members. Come and join us.

To request a complimentary Vessel Safety Check or browse our Boating Safety, Navigation, and Public Education information, click on the links above.

Auxiliarists are encouraged to visit the Members Deck, above, to check Member Training Schedules, Calendar of coming events, and what’s new!
