Final Critical Habitat for Longhorn Fairy Shrimp (Branchinecta longiantenna) - Vernal Pool Species
Geography and Environment
Branchinecta longiantenna, ...
Abstract: These data identify, in general, the areas where final critical habitat for Longhorn fairy shrimp (Branchinecta longiantenna), a vernal pool crustacean, occur. Purpose: Critical habitat are areas considered essential for the conservation of a listed species. These areas provide notice to the public and land managers the importance of these areas to the conservation of this species. Special protections and/or restrictions are possible in areas where federal funding, permits, licenses, authorizations, or actions occur or are required. Supplemental_Information: Longhorn fairy shrimp is one of the 15 vernal pool species: Butte County meadowfoam (Limnanthes floccosa ssp. californica), Colusa grass (Neostapfia colusana), Conservancy fairy shrimp (Branchinecta conservatio), Contra Costa goldfields (Lasthenia conjugens), Greene's tuctoria (Tuctoria greenei), hairy orcutt grass (Orcuttia pilosa), Hoover's spurge (Chamaesyce hooveri), longhorn fairy shrimp (Branchinecta longiantenna), Sacramento Orcutt grass (Orcuttia viscida), San Joaquin Valley Orcutt grass (Orcuttia inaequalis), slender Orcutt grass (Orcuttia tenuis), Solano grass (Tuctoria mucronata), succulent owl's-clover (Castilleja campestris ssp. succulenta), vernal pool fairy shrimp (Branchinecta lynchi), and vernal pool tadpole shrimp (Lepidurus packardi).
