Final Critical Habitat for 46 Plant Species From the Island of Hawaii, HI
Geography and Environment
Colubrina oppositifolia, Clermontia peleana, ...
Abstract: These data identify, in general, the areas where final critical habitat occurs for 41 listed plant species known historically from the island of Hawaii. A total of approximately 84,200 hectares (208,063 acres) of land on the island of Hawaii fall within the boundaries of the 99 critical habitat units designated for these 41 species. Purpose: Critical habitat are areas considered essential for the conservation of a listed species. These areas provide notice to the public and land managers the importance of these areas to the conservation of this species. Special protections and/or restrictions are possible in areas where federal funding, permits, licenses, authorizations, or actions occur or are required.
