Important Notice : ECCS is transitioning to a single submission window for unsolicited proposals. ECCS unsolicited proposals are now to be submitted between October 1, 2012 and November 1, 2012. Please read more.

The new submission window for unsolicited proposals in the ECCS Division is:

  • October 1 - November 1  Annually


Interdisciplinary Research (IDR)

The Directorate for Engineering (ENG) welcomes the submission of transformative, interdisciplinary research proposals. Many ENG programs fund interdisciplinary proposals.  ENG participates in the NSF-wide CREATIV mechanism, designed for unusually creative high-risk/high-reward interdisciplinary proposals
