In addition to making an online donation, there are other ways to contribute to the Library of Congress. You can send a check, make an electronic funds transfer, and even donate books and other materials. We appreciate your interest in supporting the Library and our many activities.
Send a Check
To make a donation to the Library using a personal check, please make your check payable to the Library of Congress.
Indicate the Fund Name/Fund Title on the memo line. You may also wish to include a cover letter detailing the purpose of your donation, especially if you are making your gift in honor or in memory of someone special.
Mail your check to:
The Library of Congress
Attn: Disbursing Office
101 Independence Avenue S.E., LM-613
Washington, DC 20540-9130
(202)707-5202
IMPORTANT: Please be aware that all mail (U.S. Postal Service and private carrier) sent to Library of Congress is screened off-site prior to its arrival to the Library. This process can add 3 to 5 days to the delivery time for all mail sent. To expedite the receipt of your donation, we strongly suggest that you send your payment using a service that can verify and track delivery, such as, Federal Express or U.P.S., or send funds electronically via wire transfer.
