James P. Womack
is currently an author and an advisor to many firms seeking to
adopt the principles and techniques of Lean manufacturing &
business. Mr. Womack, while a professor at MIT, co-authored the
book "The Machine that Changed the World", which introduced
readers worldwide to the concepts of "Lean" manufacturing,
as typified by the manufacturing management processes used by
the Toyota automotive company. Mr. Womack also co-authored the
book "Lean Thinking" which describes application of
Lean principles outside manufacturing and outside the automobile
industry.
