1.0 Applicability
This procedure applies to all Office of Science (SC) staff who are responsible for reviewing or approving contractor radiation protection program (RPP) documents to meet Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Part 835, Occupational Radiation Protection. The rule requires that all U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) activities must be conducted in compliance with a documented RPP approved by DOE. DOE may direct or make modifications to an RPP.
The content of each RPP must be commensurate with the nature of the activities performed and include formal plans and measures for applying the as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) process to occupational exposure. The RPP must specify the existing and/or anticipated operational tasks that are intended to be within the scope of the RPP.
2.0 Required Procedure
