Step 1

The contractor reviews their ISMS Description on a frequency determined by the Field Element and submits to the Field Office Manager either:

• An updated ISMS Description or

• A letter stating that the ISMS Description was reviewed and provides the rationale for why no revision is necessary.

Step 2

The Field Office Manager formally approves or disapproves the contractor’s updated ISMS Description or the contractor’s rationale for not updating the ISMS Description. 

1. If either the revised ISMS Description, or the contractor’s rationale for not updating their ISMS Description is approved, the Field Element Manager formally communicates that approval to the contractor.

2. If the revised ISMS Description is disapproved, the Field Office Manager returns the ISMS Description with an explanation to the contractor for revision until it is approved.

3. If the contractor’s rationale for not updating their ISM Description is disapproved, the Field Office Manager communicates this decision to the contractor.
