When and Why the change from Live Meeting to GoToWebinar?

As of December 1, 2011, the HSR&D Cyberseminar program is making a change to Citrix GoToWebinar. This platform will provide a more reliable environment for our Cyberseminars, and will allow the audience to connect from any computer (PC, Mac or iPad) from inside or outside the VA network.

What should I do if I receive a Cyberseminar confirmation from Live Meeting and GoToWebinar?

Please disregard your Live Meeting confirmation - the session will be held in GoToWebinar.

How will I receive audio for the Cyberseminar session?

The audio will be streamed through your computer. Turn on your speakers or plug in your headphones; the audio is automatically streamed.* If you do not have speakers or a sound card, audio will be available via telephone; the number to call will be on your confirmation e-mail and also will appear on your computer screen when you join GoToWebinar.

Will I need to install anything on my computer?

Yes, but we do not anticipate any problems with this on your end. We have tested GoToWebinar with as many federal agencies, universities, and private employers as possible, and everyone was able to install and connect to it with no issues. If you do have a problem, please contact us at cyberseminar@va.gov immediately.

If I'm unable to attend a particular Cyberseminar session, will it be available again?

Cyberseminar sessions are only presented once live. However, all Cyberseminar sessions are recorded and made available in our archive. You can access the archive here. Also, if you're registered for the session, you will receive an e-mail with the archive link.

Can we use GoToWebinar for webinars at our VA facility?

Our GoToWebinar contract is only for HSR&D Cyberseminars. If you're interested in GoToWebinar for your own webinars, you may contact Citrix directly. Pricing and contact information is available on their website. If you have further questions, please email us at cyberseminar@va.gov.

* We have heard of some audio quality issues if you are using your computer speakers. Using headphones may improve this issue.
